About the Program:
The Coro™ Women In Leadership program is a five-month, part-time training program aimed at providing an opportunity for women to refine their personal and professional leadership competencies, learn about the community, and connect with other women from diverse backgrounds.
The WIL program is now entering its 30th year, and has a strong alumni presence of over 900 women in the St Louis area who are actively engaged in addressing community issues.
The program utlizes the following training principles:
- Emphasis on inquiry and experiential learning
- Participant exposure to social institutions and community sectors
- Using the community as a classroom
- Providing opportunities for participants to assess leadership competencies and develop strategies for improvement
- Values the critical role of diversity in leadership training
- Requires full participation and attendance
Time Commitment
The Coro™ Women In Leadership program consists of five seminars, held on Saturdays (approximately one per month), and four Field Days held on Thursdays (approximately one per month). Seminars and Field Days are held all over the St. Louis community, giving participants the opportunity to visit a wide variety of locations and observe different styles of operation.
Because missing even one seminar lessens the learning experience for oneself and the group, attendance is essential; therefore an attendance policy is in place to support full participation.
Classes generally run each fall and spring semester. Class 58 will begin in September and run through December 2012.
See the WIL Class 58 schedule here
Tuition
The cost for the FOCUS-Coro™ Women In Leadership program is $2000. Often the tuition is paid by the participant's employer.
Partial financial aid may be available for those who demonstrate the need. Upon acceptance, participants will be notified of the scholarship application process.
